Carrot Rewards was created based on feedback we received from teachers about School Stickers. The positive impact of giving out physical rewards and the children’s enthusiasm for MyStickers was undeniable. The problem was teachers were managing the rewards they gave out on spreadsheets or, even more problematically, paper.

We solved that problem by creating Carrot Rewards and giving teachers and schools a way of managing rewards online.

Every time a child uses MyStickers to log a reward with a unique code it is also logged on Carrot Rewards. Every bit of information from the unique code is captured and that means schools can run competitions, set milestones and even set up shops where points can be exchanged for prizes.

We’ve heard all kinds of great examples from something as simple as earning the right to skip to the front of the lunch queue to major milestones like year groups collecting enough rewards throughout the year in return for the school funding an end of year party.

Carrot Rewards was created for the whole school and the benefits apply to both Teachers and Children of all ages from primary schools to KS3 and KS4.

We also know how important it is to share best practice amongst schools so we developed an edition of Carrot Rewards for Academies, LEA’s, School Clusters and Behaviour Partnerships.

To back up our conviction we asked the opinions of more than 800 teachers - 68% of whom were Head or Deputy Head Teachers - and found that the vast majority of UK schools (81%) like to use a co-ordinated, formal rewards strategy to motivate pupils and an overwhelming 92% of teachers felt that using a rewards scheme helped improve the standard of work for some or all of their students.

The result speaks volumes.
